Pledge “twfypatrons”

"I will donate £5 a month to become a Patron of TheyWorkForYou but only if 250 other people will donate as much or more on a regular basis, too."

— Tom Steinberg, Director, mySociety

Deadline to sign up by: 1st January 2010
144 people signed up, 106 more were needed

More details does many good things, but we'd like it to do many more. We want to do things like:

* Add 'Future Business' of Parliament, upcoming votes and debates, with alert features.
* More information on MPs, including more on expenses
* More regularly update the pages which show how politicians vote from Public Whip (i.e. "This person voted moderately for X")
* Add new tools to help scrutinise for secondary legislation
* Add individal pages for each bill as it passes through Parliament
* Introduce a new feature showing which ministers haven't answered written questions
* Get ready for this summer's blockbuster constitutional revolution, currently promised by all parties

We need the funding to be ongoing because the business of running TheyWorkForYou never stops - there's always new data which needs fixing, new issues which are raised, new servers to buy and so on.

This pledge is now closed, as its deadline has passed.

  • I'd consider giving a 5'er a month to mysociety, rather than TWFY specifically.

  • Can you please post up a PO address where people who can't afford £5 per month and who do not have a credit card can post postal orders ect to, as there are many poorer people who would love to support They Work For You.

  • Zoompad - the charity's postal address is here:

  • I think that "They Work For You" do a wonderful job in making the workings of democracy available to thousands of people.

The 'Comment' function is particularly useful, because you can place your response right next to the speech in question.

I am happy to become a patron of this website.

  • This information should be publicly available. Knowing what our own and other MPs are doing on our behalf make the system more transparent and may make the increasingly disafected populace feel they know ( and can control through their vote) what is going on.

  • £5 a month, what about the NI Assembly

  • They Work for You do a superb job... Become a patron and you'll be helping make our democracy better...
  • I'm happy to help drag UK politics kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Keep up the good work.
  • Was a beautiful page. Thanks to the designers and managers...
