— Chris Chambers, neuroscientist at Cardiff University

Deadline to sign up by: 1st September 2012
60 people signed up (1 over target)

Country: United Kingdom

More details
Together with Tom Crick (UWIC), Fred Boy (Swansea Uni) and Petroc Sumner (Cardiff Uni), we will personally deliver 60 copies of Mark Henderson's Geek Manifesto to the National Assembly for Wales.

That's one copy for each Assembly member.

For less than £10 you can help us fly the banner for science and evidence-based policy in Wales. So please sign up and help us achieve this important goal!

  • Please note that you don't need to be Welsh to sign.

Each pledge is to buy one copy of the Geek Manifesto (less than £10), but please don't buy a copy yet. Once we reach 60 signatures we will collect donations.

    Thank you for your support!

  • I'll be reminding people about this pledge at Cardiff SITP on Tuesday 10th July. Hopefully that will help us on the way to our total.

  • This is well worthwhile if only for the possibility of the AMs reading the chapter on "policy based evidence", which wonderfully outlines the problems of policy makers cherry picking bits of scientific evidence to suit a pre-agreed ideological agenda.
  • Well done Chris, nearly there.
Are you really going to deliver them by hand?
Some of the British MPs seem to be enjoying their copy.
  • Hi Dave,
Yes that's right - we're going to turn up at the Assembly building with the 60 copies, addressed to each MP, and hopefully arrange some media presence too.
Fantastic to see all the positive responses to the English campaign!

  • Hi Chris,
That's brilliant, I look forward to hearing about it. Maybe I can watch you on TV :-)
I had intended to do something similar with the UK MPs but various practical details made it impossible.
    Good luck
