More details
Under the new leadership of Kirsty Williams, the Welsh Liberal Democrats have pledged to broaden the diversity of Lib Dems elected to public office in Wales.
To be able to effectively support candidates from currently under-represented backgrounds, we need money.
The 'Kirsty Williams Diversity Fund' will be used to give additional support to women, BME and LGBT candidates, candidates with a disability and candidates from less priviledged backgrounds.
The money will be allocated in two streams; one for council elections and one for Parliamentary and Assembly seats.
"We understand that real and lasting diversity does not happen by accident. That's why I believe it is important to invest time and resources in supporting the representatives of tomorrow, today." Kirsty Williams, Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats
