This week mySociety's site www.TheyWorkForYou.com formed the backbone of the online campaign to prevent MPs concealing their expenses. We're not the only reason the vote was cancelled, of course, but we believe that this week we really showed that the Internet generation expects more than our parents did when it comes to accountability and transparency.
mySociety has both staff and volunteers, and we need all the financial support we can to keep improving sites like TheyWorkForYou, as well as to keep pushing public bodies of all kinds to embrace the possibilities for openness and responsiveness that the Internet make possible.
Help us by setting up a regular donation, and we promise we'll keep coding, pushing and demonstrating what's possible. The size of this pledge is about what it takes to keep TheyWorkForYou running with its current feature-set, but more money and more supporters will help us both maintain and improve more sites, like www.WhatDoTheyKnow.com and www.FixMyStreet.com
Instructions on how to set up a regular donation are at www.mysociety.org/donate
