Withholding originated as an optional method to pay taxes sooner to help during wartime. It isn't and never was a mandatory method of taxation. Employers, you really have nothing to lose here. If you decide to not withhold, all it does is leave your employees responsible for that extra money during regular tax time. There are 300 million people in the US. This 5,000 will easily be written off as kooks. However, I'm not convinced this will work. 5,000 people is less than 1% of the population. Considering they jail many times that amount for victimless crimes (drugs, for example), it will be too easy for them to jail us for witholding taxes. Then, the government will just REQUIRE businesses to withhold our money. I support you 100%, I just can't join you knowing that the government has us by the balls.
