  • I really like this pledge because it will benefit good causes and the environment, and hopefully get us into better buying habits which will save money too.

    I am donating the money I 'owe' from this pledge to 'Friends of Bwindi', which supports young people in south west Uganda, particularly orphans and vulnerable children. Around 1 in 4 children are orphans as a result of HIV/AIDs and many live in child-headed families. There is great poverty and hunger in the region, so it is particularly appropriate for this pledge - and this region is already affected by global warming even though the people have no electricity or cars!

    The charity is run entirely by volunteers so the whole donation goes to beneficiaries, no admin costs like the big charities.
