More details
Michael Simpson was just 21 years old when he died of Cancer. He left behind his wife of just 12 days and 1 year old son, Joshua.
Mikey passed away at Saint catherine's Hospice in Scarborough on 16th September 2009. The care he received here in the last weeks of his life was the best care anyone in the circumstances could receive. Mikey was made comfortable and was allowed to pass away with dignity. The staff at Saint Catherine's are superb - they really do a fantastic job in such difficult and tragic circumstances.
Through the website created in Mikey's memory (www.michaelsimpson.org.uk) we have already raised several hundred pounds for the hospice. This has been achieved through site sponsorships: we list every donator on the site and where businesses sponsor, we place a prominent home page link to their URL.
I will personally donate £100.00 to Saint Catherine's Hospice if I can get 20 other people to pledge just £5.00. I have already invested several hundred pounds into the website which I designed and currently manage. Every penny was worth it as the site draws attention to the plight of cancer, helping to raise funds for research into cancer, and is a platform for anyone to contribute their own story for publication.
Currently we have set a target of £1,000 and have raised just over £200.00 of this in one week. Please help us to reach our target figure. As a thankyou, every person who donates will receive a unique Certificate of Appreciation - your name will also be published to the website.
Incidentally, Michael's story (and the website) is being published in 'That's Life' magazine at the end of January. We are hoping many thousands of people will visit the site.
