More details
In my earlier pledge concerning plastic bag collecting, I asked a small perfectly select group of people to join my pledge, this was successful.
I am getting more ambitious and am asking for 50 people to join my pledge as I continue to be fed up, infact veeerrrry fed up with the amount of plastic bags hanging from trees, caught in fences and generally blowing around in our streets, caught in gutters and the edges of roads. If trees were human they would be crying out for help, as they are being strangled by the things.

you may also like to have a look at http://www.myrecycledbags.com
If you are not a weaving person, why not recycle by using bags for your dog poo, rubbish, knitting, ties for your garden canes and save our trees and fences, making the world a better place to live in.
I have begun to compile a website about our plastic carriers pledges at
http://www.corridorsandcuttings.moonfrui...
go to the plastic carriers link and you will find some pledgers adventures already on the site and plllleeeease send me any pictures, locations, writing or experiences of your collecting pledge and what you have done with the bags you collect, these will also be placed on the website.
Good luck with your collecting Ann

('Frisco Plastic Bag Ban
Updated: 10:38, Thursday March 29, 2007
San Francisco city leaders have approved a ban on plastic grocery bags.
It follows weeks of lobbying on both sides from environmentalists and a supermarket trade group.
When Mayor Gavin Newsom signs the ban as expected, San Francisco would be the first US city to adopt such a rule.
The law requires large markets and stores to give customers only a choice among bags made of paper that can be recycled, plastic that breaks down easily enough to be made into compost, or reusable cloth.
The measure is designed to rid the city of petroleum-based plastic bags, which have been blamed for litter and clogged landfills).
Best wishes

Was out yesterday with my litter picker picking plastic bags from the trees great fun, and also did a photo short for the local paper so anyone in Oxford look out in the Oxford Mail or Didcot Herald. Don't let me down lets really go for it with a last attempt to get those 25 people onboard.
