More details
Recent security fixes at MySpace have prevented external web links in Flash widgets from functioning. Flash widget development has emerged as an important sub-economy in the web development space, one that MySpace is now restricting.
I’ve set up a petition to encourage MySpace to consider a “Certified Safe Widget Developer” program. It may be a long-shot (I once waited 22 days for them to respond to a support request), but surely we have to try?
If we can rally enough people behind this we may encourage MySpace to consider this program. I would also like to develop a community/campaign site to raise awareness about the issue and to aggregate discussion and action towards overcoming it. Please join me in making this a reality.
Thanks
Ben
