-Less than one-third of children in Africa can read and write
-One-in-five children in primary school repeat grade in Africa
-More than half of all girls in Africa never enroll in school
-About 40 million children in African are out of school
Global Alliance for Technology and Education (GATE) in Africa is a nonprofit organization that is bringing together a community of interest and creating partnerships to help improve the education and technology challenges facing many high schools in Africa.
GATE is currently engaged in a pilot program in Liberia through its partner network (GATE in Liberia) to provide 200 students that show exceptional performance and outstanding promise from 4 distinguished high schools with:
-Academic Scholarships
-Technology-infused curriculum
-After school program
-Monthly leadership workshops
-Mentorship
Please partner with us to provide a child an opportunity. The funds raise from this pledge will provide "30" promising students academic scholarship.

- contribute $20 to the "Stop the Silence" charity, for the victims of child sexual abuse, on the behalf of Daniel Felix for his marathon run with the Marathon Charity Partners (MCP) fund raiser group
- create a blog for the sole purposes of reporting, analysing and publicising the most interesting, important or amusing reponses to Freedom of Information requests produced on WhatDoTheyKnow
- pledge to pay £1 or £2 per goal that Michael Gash scores this season and I will make a £9 donation now to the playing budget at https://secure.myfootballclub.co.uk/donation
