• A great idea. Although money is no guarantee for success this will surely help to bring the type of players that we need to aid our push into the Football League. I would like my money to go to the playing budget regardless of how many get involved in this initiative. In fact at the end of all this why not give an option for people to donate whatever they choose (providing over £20).

• I agree with several other posters, in that we should maximize our funding advantage. We can afford to be aggressive in getting the top players available. Bringing in the top players would also help at the gate and with the jersey sales. Even if we lose some members, we'd easily make up for it with each remaining member kicking in an extra £50/yr for players. If we want to take this club to the next level, these are the types of actions we must take. The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, have huge funding advantages every year, and they maximize those. We should do the same.

• I don't get the point of this. You send me an email saying I can check that my name is on the pledge list, so I go in and search - find I am not there, and then find the list is incomplete anyway.

  Today, Ebbsfleet United paid £20,000 to buy striker Michael Gash from Cambridge City. Thanks to all who contributed and I hope everytime you here that Michael Gash has scored for the Fleet, you will smile :-)
