I'm specifically looking for help in my current efforts to secure what's known as the "Index to the Electoral Register", which lists all streets and townlands in a given area, and maps them against Local Electoral Areas (the building blocks from which council wards and constituencies are made).

They need to be sourced from each of the 26 county councils as well as the borough corporations which exist in cities like Dublin and Cork. I'm finding it rather slow work.

After that we'll need to get calling around the Dáil to figure out the best method of mailing each representative, and after that we can start thinking about councillors.

Mysociety has already provided us with a significant amount of the tools we need - we simply need to get ourselves organised.

• I have also thought about getting something like this in the past, I'm glad somebody's finally doing it. I now work in the Dáil so I'm not going to sign up to the pledge in case there's a conflict of interest, but please keep me informed and I will see how I can help.
  
  For example, I have an electronic copy of the electoral register for part of Dublin, but I don't think I'm allowed to share it.

• Well, I know I'm not allowed to share the register itself, but it would be relatively simple to extract the index of streets, which is what's required. I'm not sure if even this would be kosher with the abovementioned acts, however.

  The prototype website is at http://dev.vocalvoter.com and can currently identify who your elected reps *are* if you live in Dublin City, Leitrim, Mayo or anywhere in Co Galway.
  
  We're adding more data as we're able to process it; it's proving to be rather a slow process but la lutte continue...
