More details
Amazingly, the British Library lacks a users' group. The 'Friends of the British Library' is a fundraising group and does not represent users. At board meetings, there is no group that represents our concerns.
The need for such a users perspective became clear when the BL announced its decision to allow a private company to charge users £4.50/hr to access electronic resources. This decision was made without any user consultation and is the topic of an earlier successful online pledge (www.pledgebank.com/britlib).
I'd like to see a British Library that listens to the views of its users and takes those views into account when making policy or awarding contracts. If you would like to see a more user-focused Library then please sign my pledge.

You could also email everyone pledging to write to their MP and ask those people to hand out some flyers too.
