Thanks for spreading the word!

Giving blood to help others is something to the public good. A doctrine that states that blood transfusions are a sin needs to be challenged- that is what the Give Blood against Jehovah's Witnesses Dogma is all about.

Debunking the Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs:

A) They are at your door to recruit you for enslavement to their watchtower corporation, they will say that "we are just here to share a message from the Bible" this is deception right off.

B) The 'message' is their false Gospel that Jesus is ruling in heaven already since 1914.The problem with this is it's not just a cute fairy tale,Jesus warned of the false prophets who would claim "..look he is here in the wilderness,or see here he is at the temple"

C) Their anti-blood transfusion ban has killed hundreds if not thousands

D) once they recruit you they will "love bomb" you in cult fashion to also recruit your family & friends or cut them off. There are many more dangers,Jehovah's Witnesses got a bad rap for good and valid reasons.

Who are Jehovah's Witnesses?

No tolerance, the Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult because they try to cut you off from others who do not have the same beliefs, including family.

Found here because, by chance I found homoeconomicus. I would love to aid your cause, but I'm haemophobic, and that doesn't really make it too easy.

That said, I definitely agree with you, that raising children, teaching them things that are impossible to proove, as absolute truth, rather than how to think, is pretty terrible... and I hardly think Jehovah's witnesses or the only guilty. Just one of the worst...

I agree with you, John. I think what you experienced was repressive. I also think that those that eat, wear, or experiment on animals are being repressive. It is not their life to sacrifice.

The JWs do not promote vegetarianism as part of the Christian doctrine. I came to the conclusion about vegetarianism as a humanist and reading Peter Singer (his Practical Ethics would not have been approved reading by the Society - or indeed philosophy generally).

I do not think protesting the refusal of life saving medical treatment by parents, on children's behalf, for religious reasons is being oppressive.

It is not their life to sacrifice. It is not a rational thing to do.

It's typical for victims of oppression to become the oppressors as soon as the opportunity arises. Humans have the unique capacity to understand the consequences of their behavior and make cruelty-free choices. Did your last meal limit some living being's opportunity to socialise?

Vegetarianism only as far as black pudding is concerned :)

As to kindness, letting people die or be in pain because they believe god has said no to blood, and he must be obeyed even if we do not understand why.

Also as a child my opportunities to socialise were diminished due to "bad associations spoil useful habits". Birthdays and Christmas were cancelled, but there were no other social events besides the 16 hours of indoctrinal meetings each week.

While the motives of the grassroots may be kindness, the experience within is not always so.

I cannot donate blood because the only organization that collects it is the American Red Cross. They conduct cruel experiments on animals that they have no right to do. These people are so insane or so perverted that they cannot be trusted. Jehovah's Witnesses are delusional, but at least they preach kindness and promote vegetarianism to some degree.
