"Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to dedicate funding to protect our drinking water sources; to protect, enhance, and restore our wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish, game, and wildlife habitat; to preserve our arts and cultural heritage; to support our parks and trails; and to protect, enhance, and restore our lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater by increasing the sales and use tax rate beginning July 1, 2009, by three-eighths of one percent on taxable sales until the year 2034?" VOTE YES.

  • What? If you believe that the amendment is a good idea you should vote for it. Bartering your vote or giving in to voter apathy (i.e. if others won't vote for it then I won't bother either) is a bad idea and could actually work against your intention of bolstering votes for the cause you believe in.

    I'm all for you trying to get others interested in a cause you believe is worthy but to say you won't vote for it if you don't get pledges is downright illogical.

    And I say this with all due respect as your action may have more to do with how this site works than with how you would go about this otherwise.

  • I'm all in favor of your Clean H2O and Land amendment. However, I DON'T like it in amendment form. Also, I do favor the arts, but in these times, art will survive, and has nothing to do with the physical environment.
    The only pork I will tolerate, comes from a food source, and I will NOT vote for anything in any gov't project which contains items that may be added by smarmy politicians. Perhaps I am even guilty of voting some into office!
