More details
Hello sisters and brothers!

TECHNOLOGY IS NOT JUST FOR BOYS.
Or for girls, for that matter.

But we all know women are vastly under-represented in the bloggy-netroots-data world.

SO LET'S CHANGE IT.

Our informal group - Women in Progressive Technology (or the WIPT List) is sponsoring a summer intern scholarship, and we need your help to pay for it.

We need to raise $3,600 by the end of July.

Please go here and donate:

https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/...

Please donate now. The money you donate goes directly into a stipend for a young woman who will direct her time and energy into building infrastructure: building a directory of women's university groups, laying the groundwork for women-in-technology outreach, and kicking ass.

Please HELP NOW as we raise $3,600 by the end of July.

You can help by donating as much as you can.
I'm giving $100 a month for the next two months.

We can make it happen if we all participate. And it's time.

Be the mentor you wish you had. Please give at least $100.

Comments on this pledge

  • Although not a member of WIPT, I pledge alongside members. I've volunteered for a long time with the Lower East Side Girls Club, girlsclub.org, which is focused on activism, technology and entrepreneurship for low-income girls... if anyone lives in New York, we're always looking for mentors...
  • Here to support a good cause -- as a member of another population segment underrepresented in the industry, I know the difference efforts like these can make. Kudos and good luck.
  • This is so exciting!!! We're only 4 more pledgers to go....

Thanks to you all for pledging! :)

    (Spam-a-lot?:)

Thanks everyone for participating and contributing!

Think we can make the pledge in 24 hours? :) How exciting would that be?
