Actually, I support Senator McCain even if no one else signs on. Why?

Because hearing news reports about our government on the radio, the TV, and in the newspaper makes me feel alternately weary, disgusted and ashamed.

Are you, like me, tired of wasteful government spending, and politicians who represent - not you - but only themselves and their special interest handlers? Are you irritated when you hear that your tax money is being spent on bridges to nowhere and hippie museums? Are you jaded, and think that all politicians are alike?

You know, these people work for you. You're paying them.

Let's try something novel: let's forget about who's a Democrat and who's a Republican. We're all Americans. We occupy a unique place called the United States of America, where we are free to disagree with one another - then get over it and work together to build something great. Let's start solving the problems instead of complaining and pointing our finger at the "other guy".

John McCain is the only candidate in the race today who has demonstrated a refreshingly honest, forthright approach to government. John has demonstrated his love of our country not only through his service as a naval officer, enduring brutal treatment as a prisoner of war, but in his years as a Senator and representative of the people of Arizona.

He is unwilling to engage in the partisan bickering that today so often cripples our government's ability to get any work done. John has been a leader in working with people of all parties to achieve the best possible outcomes on important topics such as border security and illegal immigration.

We won't solve all of our great country's problems at once. But we can work together, and make incremental changes for the better. John McCain is the man to lead us in these achievements.

Please, join me in supporting John McCain for President of the United States in 2008.

• McCain needs all the help he can get. I fail to see one single area where he has defined true leadership worthy of the presidency. He appears to have an alternate agenda. This war needs to end and he just wants to keep going. There is a reason why there are half a dozen Ron Paul pledges on this site...
