  • could you inform us a little more about sea shepherd's direct action strategies. I appreciate that the slaughter of these sacred animals is reprehensible however does this fact justify violence against the perpetrators?
I recently viewed the film Battleship Antarctica which has encouraged me to query the methods this organisation uses to combat this terrible crime.
    Cheers for any info...

  • check out www.seashepherd.org for more info. The facts are simple, they should not be whaling under more than one law. The group have never hurt anyone and make no attempt to do so. Sometimes the media can get carried away with what they do, but what they throw on board the ships in that documentary you mention does less harm than tear gas which is used world wide by law enforcers. The fact that no country has ever charged the seashepherd crew of any crime should speak volumes about how they actually work and not so much as viewed by the media. They are the most effective anti-whaling group and we should support there actions on the seas and Greenpeaces actions on the land in Japan to bring about an end to this terrible slaughter. If international pressure and several laws don't stop it just how else can we?

  • Confused by PledgeBank's site.
I've pledged to support this 'SeaShepherd' pledge. So how do I go about doing what I've pledged.
I want to donate, and I can't see a way of doing it.

  • To actually donate to SeaShepherd you need to go to www.seashepherd.org and click on the "donate today" button on the left of the site main window and follow instructions from there. Thanks again to everyone who has so far pledged.

  • Thank You Mathew for organising this fundraiser. There are many ways to donate to Sea Shepherd in the UK (we are a registerd charity). For information on this or any other aspect of our work please contact me at darren@seashepherd.org or uk@seashepherd.org For the Oceans and all life.
  • If they are linking from the comment, I would consider it spam. If they post a comment, and it is on topic, be glad someone saw your blog and thought enough to post to it. http://www.hayda.net
