More details
Only teachers can sign up schools so parents, grandparents and school children in East Dunbartonshire (Scotland) need to ask them before the end of term. Once the school goes on the BBC map on www.bbc.co.uk/worldclass it counts towards the Pledge. The BBC hopes to get 1000 schools across the UK. Teachers who sign up their schools will have access to teaching materials and a first class opportunity to educate their pupils through fun and friendship with African children. The BBC is supported by the British Council, VSO, and the UK One World Linking Association in this programme which is part of their "Africa Lives on the BBC". Further information is available on www.bbc.co.uk/worldclass or by email from worldclass@bbc.co.uk. I was inspired to do this pledge by my 9 year old son who is keen to get his school involved.
