More details
"The proposed identity management system has multiple layers #
The NIR (National Identity Register) — individual checking and numbering of the population — marking many personal details as "registrable facts" to be disclosed and constantly updated — collection and checking of biometrics (e.g. fingerprints) — the card itself — a widespread scanner network and secure (one hopes) infrastructure connecting it to the central database — provision for use across the private and public sectors — data-sharing between organisations on an unprecedented scale.
Massive accumulation of personal data #
50 categories of registrable fact are set out in the Bill, though they could be added to. Effectively an index to all other official and quasi-official records, through cross-references and an audit trail of all checks on the Register, the NIR would be the key to a total life history of every individual, to be retained even after death."

  • Let's make a difference and stand up to the totalitarians who would turn you into fifty fields on their fascist database.

  • Few people I talk to fully understand the implications of the NIR & ID cards.
    1. You could in future be rendered homeless, jobless, passportless & moneyless if you did anything at all that the government dissapproved of.
    2. Toeing the line might not result in reinstatement of all of the above.
    3. Everything in 1. could happen to you by computer error. Your ensuing nightmare might take months to rectify.

  • Prime minister David Cameron said todays victory over Gordon Brown and the labour party was the most successful conservative win in history. This is the 10 oclock news
1st June 2010.Asked why he will not scrap the I.D. bill he replied. This is a changing world, we now need more security than ever before. If 70% of the British people want I.D.CARDS so be it.Lord Tony Blair made just one comment.I tried to warn the old labour left the public would not forgive them.
They did not allow a smooth transition
back in 2006 and now labour will pay the price.David Cameron commented.I could not dream a better ending.Back in 2006 Labour had just won a record third term.10 years of growth,Brussels
showering praise on the British government and the U.K outperforming the eurozone.Exports on the increase and inflation at just 2%.Tony Blair cannot be touched.Nine days before the
    council elections.......

  • Voting conservative or Lib Dems won't solve this. All political parties are in favour they just sell us lies each time. Tony Blair promised us all both before and after 9/11 we would never be forced to have any form of identity cards. He said this on several occasions.

All political parties do is re-label policies and fool the masses every time with new names and new double talk and more lies.

  • IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF EVENTS, I WOULD SIGN THIS "PLEDGE" WITHOUT ANOTHER THOUGHT
BUT AFTER, GUY HERBERT, (I BELIEVE IT TO BE HIM) TOLD ME TODAY THAT HE WOULD NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, SIGN MY "PLEDGE" TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM OF DIRECT TAXATION. EVEN WHEN I POINTED OUT THAT, "IF THE TAXPAYERS HAD CONTROL OF DIRECT TAXATION, IDENTITY CARDS WOULD NEVER BECOME MORE THAN A TALKING POINT. HE STILL SAID "NO". UNTIL NOW I HAVE BEEN A SUPPORTER OF THIS CAMPAIGN. NOW I AM NOT. REGARDS, ATF
  • Anthony Flynn:

Please don't shout! It's very hard on the eyes. "Guy Herbert" being a NO2ID forum moderator? Why does it matter to you what one individual says, whoever they are? A campaign is either right or it is not - if ID cards are wrong (and you seem to agree that they are), then surely that is all that matters? If you are only prepared to support the campaign against them on the basis of tit-for-tat signatures, then I suggest that perhaps you never really supported it in the first place.

  • Nic Shakeshaft, the upper case is because my eyesight has a job to read the small print when sitting here typing.
And if you cannot see the point in my objection to "No2id", refusal to support a "Pledge" that would, if or when, successful remove much of the power of Westminster and Whitehall. And remove the need for "ID" cards, because it would return The Sovereignty of Parliament to the People who Elect that Parliament.
The twisted, corrupted Political Ideology of the last thirty or so years can, or could then, be abandoned. That is the Objective of my attempt to Campaign for change. Regards, ATF.
  • Anthony Flynn: If I understand your proposals correctly (which I may not), then I'm afraid I don't agree with them, personally, for reasons which would take too long to explain here (and would be entirely off-topic on this thread anyway). However, I would submit that this is not really relevant to the issue of this pledge, which concerns ID cards and NO2ID specifically, and not other ways of challenging the government in general. If you feel your approach is right, then you are of course free to pursue and promote it, but I don't see why it matters that an individual at NO2ID refused to support your aims. If you oppose ID cards, then surely that is reason enough to want to support NO2ID? It doesn't matter that you may not agree on every issue with everyone involved with the campaign - provided we agree on this one issue, that is enough.

  • "IF THE TAXPAYERS HAD CONTROL OF DIRECT TAXATION, IDENTITY CARDS WOULD NEVER BECOME MORE THAN A TALKING POINT."

Quite right. If there were no direct taxation person in the British Isles would not be forced to finance war, indoctrination camps, illness cetres and all the other criminal activiies the satanists force upon us.

Tax if theft and we all know it is wrong. That along with the abolition of fiat currency and private control over "money", would soon put an end to all the evil deceit and bring forth an age of freedom and greater success for all. Let's get a move on before it is too late.

  • Mike: I would love to debate this with you, but suggest that this is not the appropriate forum for it. This pledge (which has succeeded, I'm pleased to see) is only about NO2ID. The issues involved with ID cards are complex enough already!
