Pi Nappa Kappa Natural Hair Sorority is dedicated to the advancement of natural hair knowledge, preservation and the development of integrity.

In order to thrive and excel, this natural hair community must preserve the freedom of thought and expression of all its members. A culture of respect that honors the rights, safety, dignity and worth of every individual is essential to preserve such freedom.

By choosing to be members of this natural hair sorority, we pledge our respect for the standards of the
Sorority and for the rights and well-being of all its natural members.

As a member of the Pi Nappa Kappa Natural Hair Sorority, I pledge that:

1. I am a smart, special, valuable person!
2. I respect myself and I respect others.
3. My words and actions are kind and honest.
4. I will respect the dignity and essential worth of all individuals.
5.I will promote the diversity of opinions, ideas, hairstyles and backgrounds which is the lifeblood of the sorority.
6. I will promote a culture of respect throughout the natural hair community.
7. I will not tolerate bigotry, discrimination, violence, or intimidation of any kind.
8. I will practice personal integrity and expect it from others.
9. I will always be proud of my natural born hair.
10. I accept only my best in all I do.

I have been natural for 8 mos now. I love my hair! Thicker, softer, shinier than ever before while relaxed. Pretty hair is in the eye of the beholder..Behold my gorgeous 'fro!

I luv my natural hair. I haven't had a relaxer since 2003, but have done the weave and braid theing since. My biggest problem is that being of mixed race, I have more straight hair then curly and can't get the curl defined, but I know my beautiful natural Soros will offer up suggestions...I can't wait.

I have been a master stylist for over seven years, and worked in several hair salons from New York to South Florida. I grew my locs for seven years, and took great pleasure of educating myself on how to care for the texture I was born with. I now pass that knowledge on to people that have the same questions I had when I first started my journey....I since cut my locs off so I could experience some of the natural hairstyles I didn't get a chance to explore and experience for myself.

I have been natural since January 2010 and have done it before but this time I didn't get a perm I have stayed strong and have been natural for one year and 11 months I'm loving it.

I do have to dye my roots thou getting gray lol but love being natural.

And to continue this tradition onto my seeds, I believe this movement is not only defining for black women, but also a change to come for people to be more comfortable with their natural selves! As far as a short term pledge I will no longer go a day without spraying it without water and coconut oil :P!!!

4 years ago I switched from relaxer to texurizer(I was told its easy to transition to natural this way). Didn't work...my long locks fell out daily. few weeks ago (3-4), I cut it all off and started new... It's been a major adjustment - but I'm getting used to it and enjoying myself. I still have trouble with hair care - as I have had no real direction and very new to the natural world :-)

I am getting my dreads next week. I have been in braids for years and had long hair but a bald spot right in the middle of my head. So I decided to cut it but after a really bad cut I have made matters worse. I had to start over. So now 6 months later, I have 6 inches of hair to dread. Question - I have dry hair, I am style lazy and love to shampoo. BaaaaaD L. But I am concerned about which products to use to start my dreads. Alcohol etc.. drys it out more. Any products which are natural base which would be better?

I have been natural for 9 months now. And I just regret waiting for so long. My natural hair is so much more beautiful and fits my personality. I always felt like I couldn't find the right style with relaxed hair or hair extensions, now I am perfectly comfy with my curls. I wish my sisters in Africa would feel the same way. I promise to spread the word in my country and help more girls achieve this feeling of freedom.

Ive been nappilly happy for about 9 months now and I am LOVING it. The is the best thing that I have discoverd about myself that will ALWAYS keep me happy. Been nappy for about 3 years now but decided to chop it all off and do it again. Now I'm wearing very loose braids to protect it while it grows. I went with the kanekalon (spell check) kinky twists. Some really light hair, so I can wear them long without the worry of ripping my follicle out. I don't care what nobody says; natural african hair is the most flexible and workable thang out. I'm excited for the day to unveil my hair and show it off and show out!
