I am totally inspired by the vision of One Laptop Per Child (http://www.laptopgiving.org). They are working to get millions of low-cost highly-networked computers into the hands of children around the world. Imagine a world where children in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti, Mongolia and Rwanda were able to share their experiences and communicate directly with kids in the US, Australia, England, etc. How could blind prejudice persist? How could fear-mongering politics persist? // I could give $200 and buy 1 laptop. But I'd much rather seed a matching fund with $200, raise another $1800 in matching funds -- and then go raise the matched donations. That would mean $4000, or TWENTY NEW COMPUTERS FOR KIDS in one of the participating OLPC countries. That's a whole school in some places. // Do you have $50 you can spare to help make this inspiring possibility a reality for 20 kids? If so, please sign this pledge. -- Roz
