Pledge “Nolympics”

"I will promise to not watch ONE second of the China Olympics but only if 50 other people will do the same."

More details
I don't really need to say why do I?
After what is happening in Tibet, AS WE SPEAK, and China's past record, we should use the Olympics as a way of showing our disgust at their nasty, oppressive standards.

  • Yes, and they're locking the Chinese people out from their internet, and striking deals with Google(?) , Microsoft(?) and other big corporations that care only for money and their contact with these oppressors.
nick, 3 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • I also pledge to find out as much as possible about what is happening in China!
(I don't really know for sure what is happening)

Don't forget the pollution which might damage the health of our athletes either. (Although that's probably not as major as the Tibet thing)

  • I hope this means that everyone who signs this pledge will also boycott the 2012 London Olymics as a protest against the UK's complicity in extraordinary rendition, Guantanamo Bay and the farcical quagmires that are the wars in Afganistan and Iraq.

  • I don't think it is fair for those athletes who deserves the focus of all your people and the expectation of the Chinese people. Even if the government indeed have some problemes, that is political. For sports and sportsmen, they are innocence. For Chinese people you have deprived their rights to be focused.

  • Do you know how hard it was to keep this pledge last night? Michael Phelps was only making history. But, I did it. Because standing up for human rights is more important than seeing a few minutes of guys in speedos swimming.

I will admit, I did surf the web trying to find the results. But, I did not watch the actual race on NBC, MSNBC or any other related station.

  • I didn't watch one second either!
