More details
The idea is instead of or in addition to a fast for Lent, we should do a slow. How you would do this is up to you: there are some ideas at http://lentenslow.pbwiki.com but the basic idea as to come up with something that goes against the spirit and tendency of modern life to speed us up. Someone once characterised westerners as suffering from 'hurry sickness', this is an invitation to make this Lent a period of recuperation and partial recovery.
