"I will give £10 (or more) to Luton Town FC as part of a FAN FUND to pay the Fine set by the FA on the Club. but only if 5,000 other Luton Fans will do the same (as long as the Fund is set-up by Til or LLSC)."

— Andrew Coleman, A Luton Town FC Fan

Deadline to sign up by: 1st August 2008

Country: United Kingdom
Place: Luton, Luton (near Stopsley, Leagrave, Caddington) (view map)

More details
£10 in pot for to pay the FA Fine… Lets raise a FANS FUND for the Club

Ok here’s the plan so far:
• 5000 or more Luton Fans donate £10 or more if they want to

• Hopefully colleted by LLSC or TiL on our behalf

• The club lobbies the FA to get the Fine and points deduction overturned

• If the FA don’t overturn the Fine then the Fans Fund gets handed over in a very public delivery with Junior Hatters and lots and lots of media attending

• If the FA do overturn the Fine the Fans Fund is donated to local kids teams, helping Grass-Roots

What we need is an official (but independent from the club) way to collect the money and help publicise what we are doing.

  • £20 to fight this utter injustice!

Cherry Newberry, the club and the fans have been punished enough. Cherry told the FA, her honesty has cost us all 10 points.

    UTTER MADNESS!

  • How much more damage can the Footballing authorities impose on OUR Football Club. Questions have to be asked, its seems to be one rule for the BIG Clubs and another for the so-called SMALLER clubs. Just look at West Ham United a few seasons ago.

We have to stay positive, and stick very much together through another unstable period, and we have had our far share of those in my time as a Luton Town Supporter.

Keep the Faith, and we will come out stronger for this!

  • Football belongs to the fans - not the administrators, - We have been hit hard enough already - Give us the chance we deserve to save our club.

  • The FA seem to be intent on destroying the roots of football, if the roots die.
the top of the tree will fall ! We are seeing this process already, with the
poor performance and lack of depth to
    the England Team.
These people should be hounded out of office and charged with bringing
    English football to it's knees.

  • All football fans should rally round - we are the first, but if the FA carry on like this we will not be the last.

  • Typical FA - hammer the small clubs who can't fight back and roll over for the big clubs who flagrantly break the rules. What happened to the 16 premierships clubs that Lord Stephens found evidence of the same type of irregularites - that's right nothing!!!!!

  • So sad to see the game I have loved all my life being ruined by greed and incompetence.

Who vetted the crooks that stitched up my club? Who punished my club and not the crooks who stitched it up? Who cares sweet FA about the game at local level and at the grass roots? That'll be the FA!

Please give me football back and save our national game from this greed and perverse obsession with the Premier League and more sadly the 'big four'.

    Come on you Hatters!

Well now show real football fans some repect and suspend the fine & points.

  • Real football fans should unite in telling the FA that they are not fit to be custodians of the game we all love. They would do well to remember that the armchair/Sky subscription fans will be off when the bubble inevitably bursts and money dries up. We the "proper" supporters will still be there but will we all have a professional club to support in our local areas? It seems the FA are doing there level best to see that we won't. This decision to dock Luton Town FC points is a cowardly attack on a club trying to do everything by the book and be a future role model for how clubs outside the richest few are run. THERE ARE 92 LEAGUE CLUBS - FAIR PLAY AND FAIR SHARES FOR ALL. (sorry 91 and the bastard Frankenstein son created by the very same ruling elite).

  • The FA needs to learn that 'small' clubs it thinks can be treated in this vindictive way have far more fans prepared to stick by their club than they imagine.
These include many like myself who moved away from their home town many years ago but whose first thought at 5.00 on a Sat. afternoon is; How did the Town get on? I used to live ten minutes walk from Kenilworth Road and saw my first match in 1951. I hope this pledge gets the support it deserves and sends a message to the FA which it needs to hear.

  • The FA needs to realsie that football isn't just about the 'super rich' of the premier league. By hammering clubs like Luton it sends a message out that they aren't interested - only the rich count - but without the smaller clubs where will the future England stars come from? By knocking back Luton the FA sends out a message that they don't care. Well the news is, we do and they should be told by every Luton Supporter that (on behalf of all clubs) we will not be broken by them.

  • I applaued each and every one of you that pledges, I have done, £10 aint much in the greater scheme of things, what a fantastic acheivement it will be to get the £50,000, another case of fan power, together we can survive all the crap they chuck at us, 123 years of history is why, we shall never die!
Now, after you've pledged, e-mail the FA in disgust, use this link to get the e-mail page, you have to sign up but it only takes a few minutes.
  • The way things are going unlikely can raise 50,000 pounds by 5000 folks
pledging 10 pounds each. I am willing to give 50 or even 100 pounds in which case if all followed suit only need
    either 1,000 or 500 signatures

  • a couple of questions that the FA need to answer.

How does something that happened 2 years ago (and 2 relegations) possibly have such an effect as to be deemed the equivalent of 3 wins and a draw?

secondly if i own a car and was to get caught or admit to any number of offences then sell the car i would get the points fine etc if FA ran the home office the new owner of the vehicle would.

If a shopkeeper is caught selling items to underage customers and then sells the shop he gets the fine loses his licence not the new owner as would be the case with the FA.

with these 2 examples in mind how can it be justifiable for the new owners of a business to be fined for something done by a previous and now non existant holding company espescially as previous persons have also been fined etc. Isnt the FA trying to claw back some of the loses made by there ineptitude that has led to the failure of the national squad and in doing so the endorsements etc associated with it?

  • I'm currently doing my FA coaching badge to help inprove the youngsters of today for the future of football tomorrow. What the FA don't seem to understand is that by killing teams like us they remove that opportunity for kids with talent to progress. Look at our track record for developing talent, probably better than anyone else in this league. FA think again, punish the real offenders not us!

  • Fellow Fans of Luton Town FC,

LTFC 2020 Ltd have now completed their take over and our club is facing a very tough season starting on -30 points with a squad to rebuild, everyone's support is need throughout the season if we are to stay in the football league.

Although the Fan Fun didn?t hit its 5000 people target, we did get over 500 people pledge at least £10, so over £5000 could be invested into the club directly by us fans.

A number of Fans are currently collecting money from fellow Luton Fans with a view to sponsoring one or more Luton players kits for the season details of this can be found here: http://members.boardhost.com/lutonoutlaw...

I very much recommend that each and every one of us now follow up on our pledge and send money to this sponsorship fund. I have already!

When you send your cash please mention that you were one of the Fan Fund pledgers! (Is that even a word? Well you get the idea)

Thank you ALL for supporting the Fan Fun and hope you enjoy this season with Luton! We can and will stay up with your support!
