"I will tell the manager of both my local Sainsburys and Woolworths, in person, and in a civilised manner what I think of the decision to bow to complaints from Christian fundamentalists concerning the sale of the Jerry Springer DVD (re: http://tinyurl.co.uk/qjel) but only if 10 other people will do the same."

OK, time to fight back. If ten complaints from fundementalist wackos is all it takes to start getting things removed from shelves then I think we have to stand up and start putting some rationale back into the debate.

If religious hatred is unacceptable to you, you may wish to donate and give some sick people a slightly better Christmas.
The charity's has a donation page https://www.workwithus.org/give/donate/D... and their home page is at http://www.maggiescentres.org/
Political correctness is going too far. We can't even fly the flag of our own country now because it's likely to cause offence to someone.
This withdrawal is against the civil liberties of the country that allows all peoples to practise the relegion without fear.
I plan to honor my pledge at both my local Woolworths and Sainsburys on Saturday, slightly ahead of the sign up deadline but I don't think it matters.
I will be taking with me a letter, outlining my concerns, which I will hand to the manager personally and ask that they read it and then forward it, or a copy, to the company's chairman (see below for details*). It's your choice whether or not you do the same, but I personally feel that it necessary to present a written statement of concern so as to give the complaint some chance of getting an airing beyond the manager's first tea break.
I will also aim to get a photograph of each event. It would be nice if you could do the same so we can get them posted on Pledgebank.
If you have any other thoughts or ideas, or would like to help with drafting the letter please let me know.
Again, many thanks for making my first pledge a successful one.
A merry Christmas to you all.
Yours sincerely,
Dean Wilson

"Go into Woolies and ask for a copy of Jerry Springer--The Opera. When they say they haven't got any in stock, ask to order one. If they say they can't, point out it's available on their website.
Wonder loudly why they're bowing to pressure from a tiny number (less then ten complainants) of xian fundies."
