The chaos at Heathrow may be over just now, but the outrage that caused it is still ongoing. 500 workers at Gate Gourmet remain sacked after facing disgusting treatment at the hands of bosses who were exposed in the media as having deliberately engineered the chaos in order to cheaply rid themselves of the workers.
These workers are still on picket lines and desperately need financial aid to keep them going. Their fight affects all of us as Gate Gourmets tactics of deliberately provoking a workforce to walk out can be copied by any company who wishes to get rid of their workforce and exploit cheaper labour. We have to support these people and help them win.
Please promise to donate £5 to the hardship fund and pass this on to as many people as you can think of and please do it as quickly as possible. We need to show bosses that they can't get away with this and that we can effectively organise to support and help our own for as long as it takes.
