More details
Caterers claim there's no demand, they think there's no demand because no one asks, no one asks because they think there's no point, if they do ask they are told 'there's no demand'.

I've never asked in Sainsbury for a vegan pork pie but I've bought plenty at Holland & Barrett(hence the bulging waistline)

If there was no demand there would be no vegan pubs in Glasgow (Mono) and Brighton (George) and no vegan chocolate and mayonaisse (Plamil) in the supermarkets.

Caterers are also scared - they don't know what to do about healthier plant based foods - If they create a vegetarian option it's usually covered in cheese and swimming in saturated animal fat.

We'd like to show the caterers how and why to do it - please help us.

The Vegan Society say they have no funding for this - let's create the funding.

  • If anyone knows of some very ethical and reasonably priced colour printing companies that may be even more useful!
  • You can trust Tony to produce something special.
  • I normally use Lulu (www.lulu.com) for publishing - they also do e-book downloads.

  • Yeah the Vegan Society have been working on this for 5 years.

If they get around to doing something viable then great - we'll give them the money to remove the excuse "lack of funding"

Meanwhile I'd like to make sure something happens in 2006 whatever their priorities.

It's a no brainer, heads we win - tails we win.
  • If you still want to go ahead despite not getting as many pledges as you would like, and you need a publisher you could do a lot worse than talking to Mary from Realfood, she has her own little publishing house, Magpie House. I'm sure you already know about all her good work for veganism, but I'm not sure about the issue of coloured pictures sorry, you would have to ask Mary yourself about that as I don't know anything about publishing.
There's also Jon Carpenter's of course,
