I'm going to spend at least 4 hours a week in my local Oxfam shop (not just looking through the scabby books and pinnies). I have realised that my fiver a month direct debit is not quite enough to salve my conscience. Any local, national or international charity shop is enough to make this pledge go through.

  • hey. i was just wondering how i actually go about volunteering to work in my local charity shop. do i just go and ask at the counter for some sort of form?? Thanks a bunch. Anika x

  • I've already asked behind the counter at my local Oxfam but I know that many of the bigger charities (PDSA, Save the Children, Cancer Research etc) have published leaflets on how to go about volunteering. Your favourite charity's website should probably point you in the right direction too.
