I am a student at the University of Chicago and will be going on a service learning trip with the non-profit Pillows For Peace in July to help build houses in Cambodia. Villages pick the families most in need to receive houses, and international building teams help fund and take part in the construction.
As a team member, I need to personally fund the building of one house, which costs only $980 to provide shelter and a real home for an entire family. I am hoping to receive pledges of $25 each from 20 people, in order to fund half of this house, though it would be wonderful to fund the entire house!
More information about the housebuilding trip can be found at pillowsforpeace.org, the organization I work with. Pillows For Peace is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
