THE fast-food chain, Burger King, is withdrawing its ice-cream cones after the lid of the dessert offended a Muslim.

The man claimed the design resembled the Arabic inscription for Allah, and branded it sacrilegious, threatening a "jihad".
The chain is being forced to spend thousands of pounds redesigning the lid with backing from The Muslim Council of Britain. It apologised and said: "The design simply represents a spinning ice-cream cone."


SO WHY ARE YOU WASTING ALL THAT MONEY ON WITHDRAWING IT! This is PC pandering at it's worst and I am sick of it. If like me you think Burnger King need to learn a lesson, then please sign my pledge never to use their services again!

• I have never been offended by an icecream. To be so, particularly when no symbolic reference was even intended, is simply deranged. Why does the Muslim Council of Britain support this?
  
  I liked BK but if 100 people are prepared to sign against PC degradation of human life and insult to intelligence, then it is Macdaniels all the way.
  
  If the chap who instigated this jihad for icecream iconoclastism is reading, please think about what you are trying to do in life, and why you are being wrapped in cotton wool by others. Why not do something constructive for a change? And BK people. Get a backbone.

• If we removed everything from the public gaze that offended anyone for any reason then we'd need to bulldoze Britain from John O'Groats to Lands End. I would however like to see 'Quarry House' in Leeds go though, as it looks like a bad replica of Battersea Power station without the chimneys, 'designed' by some idiot with a terminal mind altering drug problem and is a foul blot on the Leeds landscape.

• If this guy's such a good Muslim that an Ice-cream lid that happened to vaguely resemble the word 'Allah' in Arabic script, why was he in Burger King, which last time I looked wasn't halal, to start with?

• I'm happy to support you, I don't eat at places like that anyway being a vegan (please don't tell me that veganism is also part of PC, I am vegan because of animal suffering and not to be PC, I think these things out for myself and definitely do not always agree with PC views!).
  
  I actually agree that this particular situation you describe is ridiculous pandering to PC, a picture of a spinning ice cream is hurting no-one, and besides if the people at Murder King have so much respect for minority groups and their sensitivities why don't they just go all the way and redesign their ice-creams and burgers to be vegan so anyone can eat them (vegan food is even acceptable for halal Muslims)?? Now that would actually make some sense.

  I hope you will have noticed that most of this pc drivel does not emanate from Muslims themselves. We are not offended by piggy banks, xmas trees, carol singers etc. This is a country with a Christian majority and as such, it is no concern of ours what you do, so long as you don't force us to join in. What was this ignoramus doing eating in a Burger King restaurant anyway, since meat slaughtered by Christians is not permissible for us? Unfortunately, the Muslim world has more than its fair share of people who compensate for not practising their religion by making fatuous protests, supposedly in support of Islam.

Neway I am for boycotting B.K...they shud think about how they present images in the future, it will teach them a lesson to be more culturally aware and more reseach-wise, don't you think?
