.....your a twelve year old girl...a 14 year old boy comes up to you with a knife....Rapes you at knife point....you feel your life is over....the only closure you can get is see the boy get life!...but no..he does not....in fact he doesn't even get a sentence....he gets let off!!!!!!!!

This should not be allowed!!!!

  • I agree, this is a disgrace. Just because the perpertrator did not acutally use the knife during the rape does not mean that it was not ever present in the mind of the person he attacked. And in any event, Rape on its own, with or without the other compounding factors carries a potential life sentance. I dont know the evidence that was before the judge on the day but this person should have been given a custodial sentance...period. It is often hard enough to get a conviction for rape in the first place without the compounding insult to the perpertators victim that the trauma they went through is not considered serious enough to send this person to prison for. Probably the best person to write to in this respect though is the Lord Chancellor as he is the government minister that is the head of the judiciary.
