  • I know that $1,000 is probably a stretch for most people (it is a stretch for me!) and it will require some sacrifice. But to sacrifice means to make sacred. We're running out of time to save the country. Ron Paul is our last, best chance. Considering the circumstances, I'm willing to make some sacrifices. How about you?

  • I'll give my thousand regardless of whether this pledge succeeds or not

  • $1000 is a small price to pay for the changes that need to be made in this country. I have notified everyone I know of this and posted it on my site.

http://www.bestofpaul.com - Ron Paul Social News
  • I can't even IMAGINE a more worthwhile cause to stretch for. Dr. Paul is America AND the WORLD'S last hope. If we don't sacrifice for Ron Paul now we will be sacrificing not only for the rest of our lives but the lives of our children and grand children and great grandchildren as well. This ship is sinking and the $1,000.00 I am pledging is only $30.00 in 1913 dollars due to the activities of the Federal Reserve, one of the institutions that Dr. Paul wants to eliminate. So, in terms of 1913 dollars the $1,000.00 we are donating here is only the equivalent of $30.00. Think of it that way, if you have to, but think of it and join in. Ron Paul for President!!!

  • This is a small price to pay to make a significant course change in the direction our country is heading!
Tom Hanke, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • We need to spread the word on this. If Ron Paul raises $10 million, the effect on the political dialog will save us way more than $1000 in taxes.

  • Putting my money where my spirit and devotion is.

Please realize and understand, educate yourself and those around you as to what freedom really means to all of us. Support Ron Paul and your children's future.

  • I extend my pledge to give the $1000 anyway. Another American for Ron Paul!!!
Valerie T., 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • A thousand dollars is a lot of money, but if Ron Paul raises over ten million in the third quarter, no one will be able to call him a "long shot" or "second tier" candidate anymore.
  • $1000 is nothing to pledge for somebody who is going to save our country. I pay that in taxes every 2 months! Please spread the word. Goto meetup.com and find your local meet up group. We need to do this!! We have one chance. Ron Paul is it.
John Hartleb, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • I've already given 1000$ directly to the campaign...I wish I had done it this way the first time around!

  • I'd encourage you to use the tools found in the yellow box on your pledge page to promote your pledge using flyers, MySpace, and blogs.

PledgeBank also just launched a Facebook application (see the purple box above the yellow one on this page); you can use that link to invite friends to sign this pledge.

    Good luck!
Heather, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • Pledgebank\Heather - just a thought, would be interesting if commitments could be fractionalized (where appropriate) so that in this case, if I wanted to pledge $1400, that could be recorded in Pledgebank as 1.4 'signatures'. This would better match the intention of the pledge which is to raise $10,000,000.

  • What if all meet-up groups got together and decided to pledge as a "group"? We CAN make this happen if we spread the word to others!!! Ron Paul is MY NEW HERO too.
caroline carter, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • What a great idea Caroline. I've already emailed my meet-up group and posted this idea on our meetup message board, and volunteered to track the pledges and report the results here in $1K increments. Together, we can surely do this!
Tammy D., 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • Actually, I'm going to donate the full allowable $2300 by the time the first primary rolls around. I am a former political operator under Atwater in Reagan's '80 campaign. I became jaded....until now.
    Let's get this done!
  • Paul B:

Great idea, though we don't have the capacity to do that right now. We leave the follow-up to the pledge creator, and we'd encourage Gor to keep track of the amounts pledged. The pledge creator has the option of emailing all signers once the deadline runs up, so that's a great opportunity to suggest that folks donate as much as they can.

    Keep the great ideas comin'!

  • If we can get 10k people to do this I'm in for $1k (my fiance will kill me when she finds out).

Something you can do without spending money is sign this pledge:
    http://www.pledgebank.com/RPletter2editor

100 people to write a letter to the editor to their local newspaper.

You write posts online all day, this is something easy that will have a huge impact.

We need more people to sign this!!!
  • What is $1000. Remember the words of our founders....we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
Ed Durnford, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • 1000 is a large stretch for me, but to make a difference, I'd gladly make it!
  • If all of us meetup members would give just $10.00 per week, that would be over $2,000,000.00 by Septenber 16th. I'm going to pledge the $1,000.00 Go RON PAUL.
Collins Bailey, 7 years ago. Abusive? Report it!
  • Please also consider pledging at http://www.pledgebank.com/RonPaul - it is similar to this pledge, but for $500 from 20,000 people.

Worst case scenario: the pledges don't make it. I keep my $1500. Best case: both make it, and I have to stretch for the $1500 for a great cause. Get Ron Paul in the spotlight!

It was a huge sacrifice but I sent my $1000.00 in today (August 3, 2007). I will have to make due with less in the upcoming weeks ahead but such is the nature of standing up for what is right.

May God Bless Ron Paul and all those who follow in his footsteps.

Please make your donation regardless of the outcome of this pledge.
  • Can this pledge convert to giving now? It would be a tremendous boast to the campaign if the 227 of us on the list sent in our money right away. Does that check mark by the name mean they already sent in the money?

  • If you're going to do this (and I am) see if you can get some people to put up a smaller donation each, so that they total $1000 to match your $1000. Not only does this get another $1000 for the campaign, once someone has donated they will be more likely to donate again.

  • My pledge is a priviledge. This man stands heads and sholders above all others in Congress, the Administration, and the Judical. He is a modern day Patrick Henry.

  • "In order to encourage people to aim at achievable targets, we don't automatically show pledges with less than 2.5% of signers on the PledgeBank site. In the case of your pledge target, that would mean you would need to sign up 250 signers before your pledge would show up on our 'All Pledges' page, in our search listings, or before it would be automatically mailed to local PledgeBank alert subscribers (if it is a local pledge).

So get out there and spread the word! :-)"

Only 5 signers to go to get to 250 :)

  • Hey folks, this is Heather from PledgeBank. I noticed on the forum blog that someone had mentioned wanting a thermometer or some other visual that would help capture the progress of the pledge. Though we don't currently offer that feature, I wanted to point out that, directly under the list of signatures, there's a link that reads "View signup rate graph." It's not as pretty as a thermometer, but at least it gives you a sense of the progress and a sense of whether you're on track to meet the pledge goal!
  • I am unable to personally donate that kind of money since I'm partially disabled and only able to work enough to pay my bills (barely) but time is something I do have and I'm willing to help organize a fund raiser with my Meetup groups.

I'll start sending out posts to my groups immediately.
  • Just do it! There is no better spokesperson I have seen for liberty than Ron Paul -- this is a HUGE opportunity!
